A Skunk by Any Other Name

If you stink, please put on some deodorant. Body odor is gross. Ms. Weatherbee said some of the boys in our class have been smelling bad after gym and recess. So we are all supposed to wear deodorant.

Amen, Ms. Weatherbee!

Truth and Consequences

When your mom comes out all dressed up for a party and asks, "How do I look?," I guess you're not supposed to be honest.  My mom was dressed up for her 20-year high school reunion and, when she asked, I said, "I give you 5 out of 10."

She said that hurt her feelings.

When I told her I thought she maybe was a 6 out of 10 from the back, she said that didn't make her feel better.

I guess you're supposed to lie when you get asked that kind of question.

Cool Cousins

I'm at camp with my cousin Joel.  I'm really glad he's at camp with me, because it's good to know someone when you're at camp.  Joel and I sometimes fight, but we get along pretty well.

Cousins are great.  I have a bunch of fun cousins.  In my mom's family, all but one of my cousins are boys.  They are Joel (he's 8), Charlie (he's 5), Henry (he's almost 4), and Jenna (she's also almost 4 and Henry's twin).  In my dad's family, all of my cousins are girls.  They are Sydney (she's 4) and Katylynn (she's 2 1/2).

Enjoy your cousins!

Lesson Learned

I learned a valuable lesson tonight that I hope you can benefit from.  If you have a good attitude about it and give her a shot, you can have a lot of fun with a babysitter . . . even a girl one.

My tip is for Charlie Brown:  You are kind of an idiot for being so hung up on the Little Red-Haired Girl.  No offense, but you're kind of weird.  She obviously doesn't like you.

Give it up!

Male Bonding

When your mom's out of town and it's just you, your dad, and your brother, try to do as much fun stuff as you can.  Have a friend over for a sleepover.  Go to a good restaurant for lunch.  Play lots of games.  Get a toy from Target.  Do all the "guy" stuff you can, while the girl in your family is out of town.  If you end up going to a little kids' birthday party and you're the oldest one there and you don't really like birthday cake, it'll still be okay, because you'll have had a really awesome time anyways.

And, then, after a while, it's nice when your mom comes home.  Because, eventually, you really can have a little too much guy time.

"Boy"bysitters

If you get a boy babysitter, even if you're a girl, you should cherish it.  Most boy babysitters are nicer than girl babysitters.  They usually let you do whatever you want.  It's not that they don't make you follow rules.  It's just that they don't have many rules and they like to play with you.  No offense to girls, of course.

Reminder:  If you went to Turkuaz, like I recommended last week, leave a comment on that post.
